How We Started

Circle Innovation Solutions, incorporated as AGE-WELL National Innovation Hub Foundation – BC, is a joint initiative from the The Networks of Centres of Excellence involving over 30 Canadian entities.

Our organization was founded in 2016 by Dr. Sylvain Moreno, Carolyn Sparrey, Thecla Schiphorst, and Michael Harcourt, former premier of British Columbia.

What We Do

Circle Innovation identifies overall barriers to growth in the tech ecosystem – the slow rate of innovation in healthcare, obstacles to AI adoption, or declining rates of investment in SMEs. Then Circle develops 2- to 5-year programs that aim to mitigate those challenges.

In direct conversation with tech SMEs, Circle assesses their needs and ensures that the programs deliver economic and social outcomes – by breaking down silos, opening doors, enabling access, and getting innovations to market faster, better, sooner.

Who We Work With

We support Canadian SMEs, service providers, academia, clinicians, health authorities, and users for product development projects and investment opportunities.
