We are proud to announce that our very own CEO and Scientific Director, Dr. Sylvain Moreno, has been inducted as a Chevalier (Knight) of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques of France. The distinguished ceremony took place on May 12, 2025, honouring his exceptional contributions to neuroscience, education, and the advancement of French-Canadian collaboration in scientific research and digital health innovation.

The Ordre des Palmes Académiques, one of France’s oldest and most prestigious civil distinctions, was originally established by Napoleon in 1808 to recognize outstanding service and dedication to education, research, and the promotion of French culture globally. Dr. Moreno now joins the ranks of renowned scholars, educators, and innovators who have received this illustrious honour.

Dr. Moreno’s work on neuroplasticity and cognitive health has significantly advanced the field of digital health technology. Under his visionary leadership, Circle Innovation continues to pioneer solutions that enhance cognitive well-being and healthcare outcomes, especially benefiting seniors and communities across Canada.

“This award is a reflection of our collective pursuit at Simon Fraser University and with the FAST program to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and real-world applications,” he says. “Our commitment to fostering innovation ecosystems has not only advanced the field of AI but has also underscored the critical convergence of technology and brain health.”

At the ceremony, the Consul General of France in Vancouver, Nicolas Baudouin, highlighted Dr. Moreno’s instrumental role in fostering deeper research collaborations between France and Canada. This international recognition not only celebrates Dr. Moreno’s academic and professional accomplishments but also underscores the importance of global partnerships in scientific advancement and innovation.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Moreno on receiving this prestigious recognition. His leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to excellence inspire us all at Circle Innovation.
