The first cross-sector event of its kind in BC, this Symposium brought together influential stakeholders from policy, industry, civil society, and research to explore AI’s opportunities and risks across key issue areas for the province, paving the way for coordinated action.
By the end of the day, participants had:
Identified pathways for further, more focused gatherings, with some being supported by the SFU Centre for Dialogue.
Built valuable connections with peers from industry, policy, civil society, and research circles, both from within BC and beyond;
Provided input and engaged in discussions that formed the foundation for outcome documents supporting next steps in policy and strategy across key thematic areas;
